America’s Vet Dogs Receives Donation from FMI

America's Vet Dogs

FMI shares its success with the community. Takes donation suggestions from employees.

Allentown, PA • January 9, 2019

FMI, a privately held company focused on full service contract manufacturing, makes a donation to America’s Vet Dogs. The employees of FMI are asked to nominate charities which are near and dear to their heart and America’s Vet Dogs made the cut. Both Kevin Rhodes, CEO, and Sheryl Rhodes, VP of Sales & Marketing, have the arduous task of choosing the charities in which to donate based on employee input. This charity made an impact on an employee whose wife passed away from cancer earlier this year. The family used Stephens Funeral Home where a comfort dog, named Sammy, calls home. The funeral home obtained the dog from America’s Vet Dogs to bring comfort, healing, love, and companionship to grieving families. Sammy has the amazing ability to calm people during very emotional situations and made a significant impact on the kids and adults attending the funeral. Kevin Rhodes exclaimed that “FMI is proud to donate to this organization because many of us at FMI personally witnessed the positive effects of a service dog at the funeral of one of our employees.”

About America’s Vet Dogs:

The mission of America’s Vet Dogs is to help those who have served our country honorably live with dignity and independence.

The service dog programs of America’s VetDogs® were created to provide enhanced mobility and renewed independence to veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders with disabilities, allowing them to once again live with pride and self-reliance. Not only does a service dog provide support with daily activities, it provides the motivation to tackle every day challenges.  VetDogs trains and places service dogs for those with physical disabilities; guide dogs for individuals who are blind or have low vision; service dogs to help mitigate the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder; hearing dogs for those who have lost their hearing, and facility dogs as part of the rehabilitation process in military and VA hospitals.
